Christmas In Virginia

So this year for Christmas we went to Virginia. It was fun once we got there. We drove and let me tell you it was a looooonnnnnggggg drive. 36 hours! Luckily my brother and his beautiful wife live in Kansas City Missouri. It takes 17 hours to get there, and 17 hours from there to Virginia. We spent the night with them and even went on a date. It was fun and really good to see them at their house. It was fun to see there little house. We got up early the next morning and we got to Virginia December 18th at midnight. We would have gotten there at 10 p.m. if it didn't start snowing. It was bad and guess who was driving......ya that's right me! The people in VA don't know how to drive in the snow and the plows don't even know how to work the plows. Which is why they shut everything down. After we got off the freeway they closed it, and just when we were about to get to Carol and Randals house they closed that road. Luckily Justin could still find his way around and at midnight we finally made it there. Saturday we just spent the day inside cause it was still snowing. We played games, and just chilled all day. It was nice to have a break. Then Sunday church was cancelled cause it was still snowing. Marcella and her family finally made it. And the kids had a ball together watching movies, running around, and playing with toys. That night of course we played games.

While we were there for the week we watched movies, played games, went shopping, Nic did my hair, the guys had a night out, the couples and Rachel had a date night, we saw the National Christmas Tree, and then Carol and Randal treated the kids to a bounce house on Christmas Eve! The kids absolutely loved it. They had the time of their lives sliding down slides and jumping around! I finally got to hear Candle Light Carol by Neal Diamond on Christmas Day. It was a good song. It was fun watching the kids open their presents. It was a good Christmas. That night we played games for the final night and got everything packed and loaded so we could leave early the next morning. We left at 5 a.m. and made the trek back to Utah. When we hit Colorado both Justin and I were excited to see mountains again! We did have a great vacation and the best Holiday. We had a wonderful time and we love and miss everyone! We hope to see you all soon!

What a good time you had. I am surprised your hair wasn't standing on end because of being in the car for so long. It's fun spending time with family and having fun together. You're lucky you have family close to alot of historical landmarks that people like me only dream about seeing. Anyway what a good time. Glad you had fun
