"No More Naughty Words"

So since Justin has school on Mondays and every other day is busy for him we decided to have our Family Home Evenings on Fridays. Justin doesn't have to work and it works out the best for us. For FHE we had a lesson on burying our naughty words. I got the idea from Justin. He said when he was about 7 or 8 he remembers that's what they did for FHE.

So we talked about what nice words are, and what naughty words are. Then we talked about how Heavenly Father and Jesus wants us to be nice and say nice things. Then we talked about how Heavenly Father and Jesus wants us to listen to our parents, and how we are children of God. Then we read a few scriptures. After that we sat at the table and wrote down naughty words and naughty actions and put them in a box.

We took the kids outside, Justin dug a hole, Tyler put the box in the hole, he helped Justin bury the box, and then they stomped on the hole and said "No more naughty words!" It was really cute.

For our treat we had "dirt." I even buried some worms in there. It was great. After each bite Zoey would say yum!

It was fun and I think Tyler had a good time with it. Hopefully it will sink in a little bit better now.

I have noticed that Tyler is much more aware of words and what they mean now. It helped a whole bunch. See you have already reaped the rewards from having Family Home Evening. Way to go. Blessings always come when you do as the prophet asks.

You are both such great parents. We love you all!!
